Fire / Carbon Monoxide Evacuation plan
Please familiarise yourself with the below, particularly the location of the fire extinguisher and emergency torches.

Sound of the fire / carbon monoxide alarm: The sound of the alarms will be a siren.
Raising the alarm:
- If a fire is discovered raise the alarm by giving a manual warning (whistle, shout etc.)
- If a fire/carbon monoxide leak is detected by automatic detectors, the alarm will sound.
Action you should take on hearing the Carbon monoxide alarm:
- Evacuate the property immediately and ensure all windows and doors are open to allow any gas to disperse.
- Dial 999 and request the Fire Service. Give your name, building address (as detailed above), your contact number and the reason for the call.
- Ensure nobody re-enters the building until confirmed safe to do so by the Fire Service.
- Meet at the assembly point and check everyone is accounted for.
- Contact host when it is safe to do so (Martin 07875 102327, Annette 07989 684235)
- Liaise with Fire Service upon their arrival.
Action you should take on hearing the fire alarm:
- Evacuate the property Immediately – ensuring this is done in a calm and orderly manner.
- Dial 999 and request the Fire Service. Give your name, building address (as detailed above), your contact number and details of the fire.
- Ensure nobody re-enters the building until confirmed safe to do so by the Fire Service.
- Meet at the assembly point and check everyone is accounted for.

- Liaise with Fire Service upon their arrival.
Escape routes:
- Through the Patio door on to the deck at the rear of the building, down the steps and turn right to the car park assembly point.
- Through the front door, turn left down the disabled ramp and into the car park assembly point.
Fire assembly point: The assembly point is the car park to the immediate east of the building.
Fighting fires – Extinguisher use:
Fire extinguishers should only be used where it is deemed safe to do so i.e:
- There is a clear means of escape.
- The fire is small.
Personal safety always takes priority and, if in any doubt, you should not attempt to extinguish a fire.
Location of key fire related equipment:
- The fire extinguisher is positioned on the floor behind the ladder at the east end of the kitchen work surface.
- Emergency fire blanket is located on the side of the kitchen unit to the right of the hob.
- Emergency torches are located on the west end of the kitchen work top and by the left hand bed side lamp on the mezzanine.
