There are many lovely walks in the area around The Old Pump House. The fields opposite and around us are available to walk in. Please avoid fields with horses, sheep or cattle in and please keep to the field boundaries where possible. Otherwise feel free to roam.

Please feel free to explore Ron's Wood. This is in the lower part of the grounds down to the left as you exit the back door of the Pump House. This is a newly created arboretum covering about an acre at the far west end of the Chimney Field House grounds. The wood is named after Annette's father who's legacy helped create the wood.

Shottleburn Woods
Distance from Chimney Field House: 0.25 miles
Exit the gate to Chimney Field House and turn right. Follow the road for a quarter of a mile. You will pass Clover Cottage on you left. Take the next gate on your right. This will lead you through some forest paths in to Shottleburn Woods. If you make your way to the right (the south side of the woods there are amazing views over Strathearn. The paths eventually peter out after about 2 miles so you will need to turn around and follow it back the way you came. There is some logging going on there at present so please be careful of any equipment.

Methven Den or Methven Woods
Distance from Chimney Field House: 1.5 miles
The site is sign posted from the main road through the village opposite the Methven Arms. Follow the road up and pass in front of the doctors surgery and between the houses. There is parking for 2 or 3 cars. The walk is about 3 miles and goes through a small woodland in a valley with a burn running through. The path takes you on a circular route round the site and there are benches and picnic tables. Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 1 h 14 min to complete. The trail is great for hiking, running, and walking, and it's unlikely you'll encounter many other people while exploring.
